Choosing the right hairstyle

Most hairstylists would suggest hairstyles to you; however, it is you who have to choose the one that would suit you most. For this it is necessary for you to know what would suit you.

Knowledge of shapes of face and the right hair style for it would give you an idea of what to choose when you visit your hairstylist.

The oval face

Considered as the ideal shape, the oval face is slightly wider at the forehead and rounded at the chin. It is a complete platform for any kind of hairstyle. You can try different styles and choose the one that you like the most.

The Round Face

If you have a round face, you should not try short hairstyles such as butch or crew cut that feature tapering at the sides and back because these haircuts would make you face look too small. It also would make your neck look longer and hence have to be totally avoided.

You can go for loner hairstyles which would give you a fuller look and make your face look oval.

Heart Shaped Face

Wide cheek bones and broad forehead with narrow jaw line and pointed chin feature a heart shaped face. To reduce the fullness of the broad cheekbones try hairstyles that would taper at both sides. This would highlight the best features of your face better.

Square Face

If you have angular jawbone with square shaped forehead you have to make sure you choose a hairstyle that would have more hair in your crown so that the square shape is balanced.

Adding bangs in front would be a good option. Make sure that the bangs are blended at the temples. You can have a layered cut that makes your hair look full and bouncy.

Oblong Face

An oblong face on the other hand has the same width from forehead to jawbone. Caesar cut with bangs in front and lesser hair on the crown would be the right choice.

Pear Shaped Face

Pear shaped or triangular face is narrow at forehead and broad at the jaw line. Hence to compensate the narrowness on the forehead you have to choose a style that gives fullness at the sides and temple.

Inverted Triangular Face

An inverted triangular face on the other hand has a wide forehead and narrow cheekbones. Such type of face can be made fuller by reducing hair at the sides and wearing a full beard so that the jaw looks wider and balances the jaw line.

Diamond Face

A diamond face is widest at the eyes with narrow forehead and chin. Keep the hair short at the top while fuller at the sides and temples. Bangs would help to add width to the forehead. Do not choose hairstyles that taper at the sides.
